Skywatch Friday - Sunset on the River

A couple of weeks ago, I drove out to Wellington Point along the south arm of the Fraser River. I did a post about it for "That's My World Tuesday" and you can see the entire post here. Between 4 and 4:30 pm, I watched as the sun began to fall in the west and as the layers of clouds surrounded its orb, its light continued to break through causing reflections in the river. Here are just a couple of shots I got that day. Hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful Friday, everyone, and thanks to the great team that hosts Skywatch Friday. So cool over the water. It's hard for me to say what's prettier, the sky or the reflections.

You must have really enjoyed watching this light show as you took your photos. Beautiful reflective shots, too! Glad to hear you are enjoying your retirement from teaching...same here (35 yrs, retired "06) but it took some time to realize it can now be about me! :) Enjoy!

Leslie, those are great shots of the sun breaking through the clouds and reflecting in the river. The sun breaking through the clouds is for me such a hopeful thing to witness.

They are great. Sunrise/sunsets are my favorite pics to take. I specially like the second one.

I see what you mean Leslie, and maybe they were even the same sunsets, just from slightly different angles. Have a great weekend. Thanks for the visit. -- Margy

I missed this on Friday, but I'm glad I scrolled down to it today! I especially love the first shot with the curve of the coastline stretching into the distance.
