Creative Photography #11

When in San Gimignano (Italy) in the fall of 2006, I came upon these four older men sitting in a little alcove, visiting and reading the daily paper. With gestures and my limited Italian, I asked if I might take their photo and they very kindly nodded. As I lined up the shot, they simply went back to what they were doing, which was perfect! It's one of my favourite shots of my entire trip because it encompasses "real" life in Italy.

I love this! The sketch effect is great. I will have to try it out, looks like fun. I like to use the oil painting effect on color photos.

;-)

Good luck in Roger's contest!

That's a perfect way of editing that, really gives it a lot of character. Even though I'm still interested in seeing the original. :)

Lovely - it looks as if it is a pen and ink drawing. More evocative than film or digital...even though it is either. It doesn't feel like it, though!

Good luck with such a thoughtful entry!

That looks like a drawing! Fantastic and yes, you're right - it looks very Italian!
