My Dad (4th from front on left) and my Mom (floral top beside him) out on the town with a group of their friends. This would be the early 40s. I knew the couple directly across from them as they stayed friends forever. I remember the day my Dad almost cut his finger off with his table saw and we were tourniqueting it (his finger, that is) just as they dropped in for an unexpected visit. Mr. A. rushed Dad and my Mom to the hospital while Mrs. A. stayed with us three girls. Dad didn't lose the finger, but for the rest of his life it had a permanent crook in it. Click to enlarge photo.

Your mother looks so like you in that picture.
I will get round to emulating you with old family pics - makes for a good theme in itself.
Beautiful picture of your parents.
lovely pic to make you nostalgic!
A happy little group - it's nice to have these photos from the past.
There is a striking resemblancE. Happiness can be captured so well with a single image.
I love that kind of picture. I have some from my Gramma and my parents.
Women hairstyle, clothes, good manners, all is reflecting this time. They all look selfconfident, to plan ahead.
I love this shot. It reminds me so much of pictures of my parents with friends in the 1940s.
Isn't it fun to peruse through the old pics of our families? One day I'll do a post on Bad Habit with some pics with my parents from the 40's, I just love looking at them.
Your dad was one handsome guy and your mom was a knockout! (I also love the guy with the "reserved" sign in front of him. :-D They all look like they're having such fun!

I love old photos and their stories...
wonderful memories there. And the guy with reserved card looks a hoot!
They look like having a ball together, and your parents look adorable! What a creepy story about your father's finger, poor man, I could feel my own finger aching! LOL How lucky he didn't lose it!
