Hi everyone! I've missed a couple of Tuesdays because love is in my life again after so many years. But I wanted to share with you the fact that Lotusland (aka Vancouver, Canada) is going to have a white Christmas this year. This is a very rare occurrence because of our normally temperate climate. However, we've been overwhelmed with snow for the last week or so and the forecast is for more snow on Christmas Eve and continuing cold temperatures. On Friday, L and I went walking in a winter wonderland along the river. No one else was around and we could hear our footsteps crunching in the frozen snow. I took my camera and managed to catch a few really good shots of the sun's reflection on some icy spots. We also saw signs that rabbits, birds, and other forest creatures had been out and about during the day. The sky was turning red and ducks were floating in the river as we turned around to head back to the warmth of the car. Lotusland is lovely covered in white, but I sure am looking forward to returning to our usual grey skies and drizzle. It's a lot easier to shovel rain than it is to shovel snow. In the meantime, please enjoy the following photos and be sure to click to enlarge. Also, may I wish each and every one of you the very best of Christmases and a very Happy New Year!

Enjoy this rare white blanket. It looks so beautiful this way too isnt' it?
Hmmm, love's a great excuse. Love the photos.
Isn't it wonderful for a change to have snow for the Holiday Season along our Coasts. Your photos of the outdoors look great too. I hope you continue to enjoy the white weather.
You have no idea how much I want it too snow but no nothing but rain. These are beautiful clear winter scenes.
Such beautiful photos of the snow, I love the reflections in the ice.
So pleased for you finding love in your life again!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Leslie: Those are neat captures of the snowy conditions of your world.
Sounds like life is good. And yes, I was amazed to see the winter weather chart of snow accumulation so far this winter. I wouldn't have thought, however, that Vancouver doesn't normally get snow.
I love your composition in these piccies Leslie, beautiful. And a bit of a walk in the snow never hurt a romance :-) Merry Christmas.
Lovely pictures. How nice to be blessed with a White Christmas. Our forecast is 77 degrees. No white Christmas here.
Maybe someday!
Merry Christmas!
A well composition photo.
Merry Christmas
Nice shots. I always wish we'd get a little snow just for once but I never think about having to shovel it. :-D Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you as well.
It was getting better and better and the last one was the fave for me. The light on the ice in the shortest days of the year is a rare treasure.
everybody seems to have snow this year - quite unusual. Lovely photos, particularly that second one, with the lovely colors in the sky.
You are so right, everything is so beautiful in a mantle of white - well I guess so as long as you don't have to drive or walk for too far. Wayne and I have been enjoying this white Christmas here in Powell River and up the lake. A Merry Christmas to you. Enjoy your new love and life. - Margy

I'll say it again: your photos are awesome!

Thanks for sharing your EXtraordinary eXperiences of a White Winter with these eXtra shots !
Happy new year !
Oh Leslie, you sound so happy (hugs)! I am sure this white stuff looks far more beautiful than it is to cope with, but if it is only over the festive season, I think I'd be happy enough to endure it.
Happy New Year, hon.
the sun reflected on ice is magical but so scary too - it has gone milder here today and the frost is gone - doesn't look so pretty but it is safe to go out.
simply beautifully captured shots....lovely!

Best regards from Argentina

You also live in a wonderful place. So paceful...
Hi Leslie, I like your comment about thongs. The Australians and New zealanders dig at each other, and Thongs is something they laugh about the Aussies. How sexy is your thongs?
